March 15th Challenges!

Whew! Halfway through March! Crazy right?! Bring on Spring!

I loved the second challenge from Scrap Our Stash this month and decided to play along. Here's my take on the sketch and the things I used for the word CHARM included cardstock, heart, arrow, ribbon/reel and Mickey paper/matted photo.

March 1st Challenges!

Hello everyone and happy March! I'm thankful we're "marching" right on into SPRING! Yay for flowers, birds and warmer weather! <---and SPRING BREAK for this teacher!

This month I'm entering in some new challenges! My layout was inspired by the wonderful ladies at Stuck?! sketches. My colors were inspired by the colors chosen by Another Colorful Creation along with the mood board/stitching challenge from Off the Rails Scrapbooking and finally two Tic-Tac-Toe boards from Rochelle Spears' Blogspot (Tag, 3+ patterned papers, cork, gold, circles) & Scrap Our Stash (Crate Paper, gold, charm).

Thanks so much for all the great challenges! I was really inspired! :)

Go BIG!

Hey everyone! I wanted to brighten your day with a quick creative idea! I recently had the opportunity to go swimming with some of the manatees here in Florida. Soooo exciting right?! It was definitely awesome and I tried my best to capture the experience using my small GoPro. Unfortunately the pictures that I took weren’t that great of quality (due to the clarity of the water) but I wanted to figure out a way to still document the experience…so I decided to go with a BIG title.

Using my Silhouette Cameo I decided to cut the word MANATEE in big bold outline style letters.

I then backed the letters M, A & E with some of the pictures from the day.

For the rest of the letters I backed them with random scraps that fit into the color scheme!

I added some journaling, paint and a few embellishments to finish it off. Viola! Another great page to add to your gallery!

Give it a shot ladies! Try it out and go BIG!

February Challenges

Yay for February! I've always loved this month because there are so many great chick-flicks on T.V. this time of year! They're a perfect companion to my scrapbooking addiction! :)

This month I'm entering in Rochelle Spears' Layout challenge along with Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge's title challenge using the word "Today".  Thanks to all for the fun challenges!

My layout is documenting our recent road trip up to Minnesota this Christmas. Having spent part of my childhood in this gorgeous state, I'm somewhat familiar with ice, snow and negative temps. However, after spending the past few years in some southern states I've become a little "soft". This driving experience reminded us quickly of what winters are like up in the northland!

January Challenges

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm so happy to be starting a new year of scrapbooking & creating new things! This month I'm participating in three different challenges: Brenda's sketch challenge, Rochelle's inspiration board (I loved the teal, pink & gold combination) and finally Scrap Our Stash's Tic Tac Toe board (paint/mist, a die cut and Simple Stories line So Fancy).

I also decided to enter into the Stuck?! sketches challenges. I loved the circular center and added my own crab mallet on the side instead of the strip border.

Here's my take on Stuck?! sketches Jan. 15th challenge! Thanks Laura for all the fun!

Thanks for swinging by my blog! Have a fabulous day!

December Challenges

Does anyone else scrap important Christmas cards too?! I've been put in charge of preserving our family history (by scrapbooking) and so I wanted to make sure that this card from my grandparents was included in our family album. Thanks to The ScrapRoom for the great sketch challenge, Off the Rails Scrapbooking for the Red/Silver/White Colors on the mood board and to Scrap Our Stash for the fun book challenge! I've always teased my grandpa about being a "Grinch" so when I saw the book cover I knew I needed to scrap a picture of him! I used some striped paper and sequins for the challenge requirements.

Hope you have a great rest of your 2016!
